Changing government for the better,
in the most peaceful way possible.
The Sole purpose of government should be to help people get along. This can extend to helping the wellbeing of all people as that directly pertains to people getting along. For example a public health system funded through donations but run by government serves that purpose because in general people are more likely to get along when in good health.
Enforcing ethical beliefs does not serve that purpose but causes division. Many would belief you would have no laws without ethical beliefs. That is simply not true. Laws can me made to lessen difference in ethical view. Abortion is a topic with a wide range of ethical views which is why it is a great example of why law needs to not be about what is ethically right but how to best confront conflicting needs and perceived "rights". More on this topic will be developed on it's own page, Abortion. A more simple example of law needing to be made to support differing ethical views would be regarding what must be worn. Over the years society has placed different demands on requiring parts of the body to remain hidden because of a multitude of ethical views. One ethical view to consider is that hiding body parts leads to a sexualizing view of the human body. Laws that do not respect both ethical once again would only cause division not supporting the role that this party believes government should have. Instead of laws that clearly protect people from being chastised for going around wearing nothing wherever they like or laws that protect the "right" of someone to be offended by certain body parts being viewable in public, one can try to make laws that try to allow both to coexist in the most amicable way possible. Limiting either geographically isn't necessarily the best or only option. Making a law at all about such isn't even necessarily the best option. Why should anyone get to say another's body being visible is offensive? Should one be able to be able to arrest one for offending someone else by wearing the color red? Instead a government might go about trying to reconcile the difference of ethical beliefs by doing things such as providing areas where there are not specific laws regarding what is legal or not but that are meant to support those differing views.
Hopefully this party can help people learn to resolve conflict in a more amicable manner.
